Success with FRES

Nos acaban de informar desde General Dynamics Reino Unido de una noticia de gran interés para para el futuro vehículo FRES que dada la entidad de la tres compañías que han quedado fuera de concurso, transcribimos literalmente en inglés, tal y como nos ha llegado.

"Earlier today, the Ministry of Defence announced that it has halved the number of rival armoured vehicles it intends to consider for the Future Rapid Effects System (FRES) contract to supply the British Army with a new generation of armoured vehicles.I am delighted to be able to inform you that the General Dynamics Piranha vehicle is one of the three vehicles selected. The Piranha remains in the competition alongside the ARTEC Boxer and the Nexter VBCI (Vehicule Blinde de Combat d´Infatrie).BAE Systems SEP vehicle, Patria´s Armoured Modular Vehicle and the Italian Iveco Defence Centauro have not been successful in selection. This is great news for the Company and I congratulate everyone in Ground Systems and all those across the business who have been involved in the project to date. We must now all work hard to ensure our success at the "Trials of Truth"" demonstration -a five- week test commencing at the end of this month. A decision on the winning vehicle from the "Trials of Truth" is due to be announced in November.We will keep you informed of any further developments."
